Introducing the new ADB website. The first print volume of the Australian Dictionary of Biography was published in 1966. The ADB went online four decades later in 2006. Twenty years on from that milestone, we have created a brand-new website that will see us through an increasingly complex digital age. VISIT THE NEW SITE

New look, same content. Things might look a little different, but all the content you know and love is still there to be discovered on the new ADB website, including almost 14,000 biographical entries (and counting). Some features have moved around a little bit: for example, if you liked to use the ‘Browse’ function on the old website, you can now find it under ‘Advanced Search’. It’s all designed to be a little more streamlined and user-friendly. Take some time to play around! Head to adb.anu.edu.au to check it out.
Companion websites in one location. The team at the ADB produce several companion websites. Moving forward, these will all be discoverable on the new-look People Australia: The Biographical Register of the ADB. Click on the ‘Projects’ tab to find collections such as Obituaries Australia and the Biographical Register of the Australian Labour Movement. Head to peopleaustralia.anu.edu.au.
