Volunteers needed for the Cedars

The Cedars is the historic home, studios and heritage artist gardens of Australian artist Hans Heysen and his artist daughter Nora, located in Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. With the recent opening of our new Heysen gallery showcasing Hans and Nora’s works, we’re expanding our volunteer program.

The Cedars offers a rare, hands-on setting for anyone with a love of history. Our new gallery sits alongside the original Heysen home, studios and gardens, giving volunteers a genuine window into the legacy of two significant local artists. Volunteering here gives people exposure to the day-to-day experience of welcoming people to The Cedars and educating them on the Heysen legacy.

What volunteers can expect:
• Time spent across a unique heritage site — historic home, studios and gardens alongside a brand-new gallery space
• Direct involvement in visitor engagement and hosting within a nationally significant collection
• Opportunities to connect with the broader heritage and arts community in the Adelaide Hills
• Flexible scheduling (we ask our volunteers to be available to complete at least one 3 hour shift per fortnight)
