VISIT to the GLYNDE ROBERN MENZ FACTORY, 10 July 2019
The HSSA Visit to the Robern Menz factory on 71 Glynburn Road, Glynde, on Wednesday 10 July 2019, coordinated and planned by Pamela Rajkowski, President, and Jesse, manager, factory showroom, featured a History Talk, unprecedented at the factory site, on the Menz family. The event turned out to be an even more wonderful experience than Pamela and Jesse anticipated when 25 of our members had the rare experience of hearing the spontaneously-offered historical contributions by HSSA members William Menz, 89, and his sister Helen Pearce nee Menz 91, and current business owner Phil Sims who contributed comments on his Sims family side of the business. William and Helen were very generous in the Q and A parts of the event and willingly posed for photos. Jesse displayed the Menz family history book and antique Menz chocolate boxes collection, with a further donation to the collection of another antique box made by Geoffrey Bishop, Deputy President.
